Setting up a home networking system or home area network (HAN) allows communication between digital devices deployed in the home or office, usually comprised of personal computers, accessories, mobile computing devices as well as surveillance equipment.

Home networks may use wired or wireless technologies. An important function is the sharing of Internet access, often a broadband service. This is done through your internet service provider (ISP) via either fiber-to-home, cable Internet access, a digital subscriber line (DSL) or mobile broadband.
